Loena Hendrickx opens Olympic Qualifier in Beijing with strong Short Program

Beijing, September 19, 2025 – Loena Hendrickx has made a confident start at the ISU Skate to Milano Olympic Qualifier in Beijing, finishing third in the Short Program with a score of 66.92 points.

Despite two minor mistakes, the Belgian star delivered a graceful performance that impressed both judges and fans in the packed National Indoor Stadium. Her strong skating keeps her well in the fight for one of the coveted Olympic spots for the 2026 Milano Games.

With only five women’s tickets available at this event, the pressure is high, but Loena showed resilience and determination on her road back after her ankle surgery earlier this year.

The final decision will be made after the Free Skate, where Loena will aim to climb further up the rankings and secure her spot at the Winter Olympics.
